New Challenges

If you are reading this blog for the first time you may notice that I haven't posted anything on it for several years.  It was created to support my "Thirty Stories in Thirty Days" project back in 2017.  Back then I collected writing prompts prepared by the classes that I was telling stories to.  They prepared 30 prompts for me; ten regular one sentence prompts, ten extended paragraph prompts and ten picture prompts.  I then created a story from them for each day in November.  The previous posts have links to the stories so feel free to browse through them.

But now the year is 2020 and we are dealing with more issues than simply writing stories.  In an attempt to keep in contact with my classes I have been developing videos of me telling my stories.  It isn't the same as being there in person in front of the classes, but it will have to do for the time being.   My desire has always been to inspire others, young or old, to create their own stories.  Writing and telling stories over the years has filled me with a sense of accomplishment and peace.  Being able to escape the real world for a couple of hours as a story fills the page and the characters come alive lets me imagine the world as I would like it to be.

Over the next few weeks I will be adding video stories to my talesbydan.com web site.  Most will be ones that I have been telling in the schools for many years and some will be new, so log on, watch the videos and let me know what you think.  If you have an idea for a story let me know what it is and I will try to write your story, or better yet, write it yourself and share it with me.  I love to read new stories.  Until next time.
